Ketu in Cancer: what it shows
Ketu's detachment and insight take on the manner of the sign it occupies. Cancer is a movable water sign of the Moon, caring, protective and sensitive. Here the graha stays in a friend's sign, comfortable and cooperative, so its results are mostly favourable.
The nature of Cancer
Cancer is a Water sign of Movable (Chara) nature, ruled by Moon. Ketu placed here takes on that element's temperament and that ruler's priorities.
Ketu and the Water element
Ketu in a water sign deepens intuition and spiritual feeling. The native may have strong dreams, psychic sensitivity and a natural pull toward meditation and pilgrimage. Tradition reads Ketu here as the seeker who already knows the way inward. Worship of Ganesha, the remover of obstacles, is the classical observance linked to Ketu.
How Cancer shapes the pace of Ketu
Cancer is a movable sign, chara Rashi, which the tradition links to beginnings, travel and change. Ketu here acts on its themes quickly and likes fresh starts. Results tend to come through initiative rather than waiting, and the native is often happiest when a new project is under way.
Ketu speaks through Moon
Rahu and Ketu are the shadow planets, chhaya grahas, and own no sign of their own in Parashara's main scheme. The tradition says a node acts like the lord of the sign it occupies, so Ketu in Cancer borrows the voice of Moon. Look at where Moon sits in your chart and how strong it is: that tells much about how Ketu will give its results here, and during whose periods.
Reading a planet by sign
The sign shows how a planet expresses itself: its style, tastes and comfort. The house it occupies shows where in life that style is used, and the aspects and conjunctions it receives show who and what it works with. A planet's dignity (exalted, own sign, friendly, neutral, enemy or debilitated) tells you how easily it delivers its natural significations. Positions on these pages use the sidereal zodiac with the Lahiri Ayanamsa.
Why your Ascendant changes the reading
The same placement lands in a different house for every rising sign. The table on this page shows that house for each of the twelve Ascendants with a short reading, so you can see how one sign placement plays out in different charts.
